Sometimes, on a busy day, when a chill is in the air, a chair from across the room calls your name.
At first it seems like a slight nudging whisper as you balance laundry on your hip and race by it. Other times, it seems louder, as you stir this pot, mix that pot and go about doing everything for everyone else.
Sometimes, the chair gets even louder when a pretty rose pillow accompanies it....
Sometimes, you need to listen to yourself, and stop.
Sit, reflect, pray, read...
Sometimes it is hard to sit, (and you promise yourself and the chair with all the ingredients for some personal rejuvenation) that you will...eventually.
Most times, "eventually" never comes.
It is not selfish or self centered to take that moment and give yourself the best gift ever.
The gift of just being present, regrouping, destressing and giving thanks.
How much more will you be able to take care of those around you, if you feel relaxed, centered, and stress free?
Sometimes, a cup of tea and a few minutes are just what the doctor ordered.
I love the saying, "Stop the glorification of business".
Reading it for the first time, changed my perspective on who I am and what I value.
I want to be the best Mama to my babies, and the best me all around.
It is impossible to do so though, if I am constantly filling any "spare minute" I have with "doing" and not rejuvenating my mind and body instead.
It is something we could all remember once in a while.
Stop the glorification of "busy" and just "be".
(On that note, I will keep the tutorial for this inviting shabby-chic-rose-inspired pillow for another day.)
TODAY you should find a corner and enjoy a few moments to yourself. Or go hide in the bathroom like my husband does.
You deserve it. ;)
