Working on the Lower Level.

If you follow along with This Little Estate on Facebook then you may have seen a preview of what we have been accomplishing around here! If you haven't joined the fun over on our page feel free to like it to get the inside scoop on all that we are working on. Like it here.

We have project ADD at This Little Estate and are constantly starting new projects before finishing old ones. We are currently focusing on our lower level since I somehow agreed to doing hair for four friends in the next few days! I love that I get to do their hair, but the salon is far from done and ready for guests to be beautified in!

So this little cutie and I braved the constant cold rain this week and made a trip to visit our helpful friends at Home Depot. She with her paint chip, and me with a swollen face from my run in with a bee! {Long gross story, but it turns out after a visit to the ER, the little bee didn't want to be eaten -- though it was made into my sandwich from a local coffee shop. ;(...}

Gross, I know. Don't remind me. A bug IN my mouth. Enough said.

We hurried home with our Behre Paint and Primer in the colour "Pot of Creme" and got to work painting the wall, and taking Benadryl every few hours.

This adorable little man was a trooper and let me paint while he worked out his gums. Sooo cute!

We have been painting non stop, working on electrical, cutting the new ceiling, caulking and painting it, mudding the walls multiple times and clearing out the room of many tools to make room for our new flooring!! (Thanks for your help Mama! You can work a mean broom! -No witch pun intended. :D)

I am able to type this because these allergy steroids are making me woozy enough to need a break and our tool for cutting the floor just DIED. It is 9:30 pm and my husband is running out to Home Depot again to get the battery he needs.

This is precisely why we move from one project to the next. If we run into some bumps along the way we just start another couple projects to keep us occupied till we can run across town to the Hardware store again.

You have no idea, how many times I have wondered why we didn't just move closer to the Hardware store!!!

I hope we aren't the only ones why always manage to run out of screws or putty of some sort, or whatever it is we need, multiple times during any given project on any given day...

I DO hope, however that I am the only one who has had the surprise of finding a bee in a sandwich. ;)

I hope this find you enjoying your Thursday! Cant wait to show you the kitchen reveal as promised next!

Ack! Seriously? A BEE in your sandwich? That's insane! Take care! Love the progress you have made. The ceiling is awesome! We have 2 HD's close by which is a blessing when we are in the middle of one of our projects!

Oh. My. Gosh. STOP. A bee in your sandwich?!?!?! I would die. The bee would die. The sandwich maker wouldn't die but would definitely be encouraged (read: threatened with lawsuit) to fund me a lifetime of bee-free sandwiches. That's ridiculous.
Okay, maybe that's a little harsh for the sandwich maker. Maybe they'd just have to put in community service hours...for me...running back and forth from the hardware store. See? Everyone wins.
Well, except the bee.

(Do I win the longest-random-comment-from-a-practically-stranger award? What, you don't give out those? Weird.)

Bahahahahahaah!!
I almost choked on my coffee while reading this. You kill me. Thank goodness the BEE didnt kill me! I dont like to make a big deal about bugs being in my mouth so I let the sandwich maker/company go with out a verbal assault. Ill remember your idea if there is a next time. ;)

Your basement looks AMAZING! Definitely not basement-y either - even better! I had to laugh about the multiple trips to Home Depot - I think I've been to the hardware store, um, FIVE times this weekend, and I could actually go one more time, but I'm tired!! ;-)

Thanks for the kind words. I am so happy with it so far :) The trips to the hardware store are getting out of hand. I wish they would just deliver, though screws and nails and saw blades probably wouldnt be worth their while ;)
